My Very Own Super Structure!

Today is the day of creating my first Super Structure! I do have one complaint about it...it took me 3 tries to make it...First try took me about an hour to think through the title and I got logged out by default...Second time I took about 20 minutes rewriting it, but got logged out again...Third try copy & paste from a word document that I backed up all the fields in. They should fix that especially for people who don't double check on whether or not it went through until the next morning and see nothing that wrote was archived. Finally, the Super Structure entitled "Pets for Threats" was created

On the other hand, I feel like I've actually contributed towards something in the world and I'm not even as involved as some. Putting something in writing even in the digital age means something more. We need more of these, I strongly believe in the idea of crowd sourcing ideas and creating these campaigns of involving the masses. We can be educated in marketing, business, and all kinds of theories but the fact is that 1,000 is stronger than 1. I don't know about you, but I look forward to the next 1o years; lets see where it takes us.

SuperStruct Impressions

So far my experience with SuperStruct has been fun, but less than ideal not entirely the creator's (IFTF) fault. For someone who doesn't have hours to keep up with the constant checking its difficult for me to know whats happening at a glance. I don't blame the creators at all for this seeing as I don't have much time for extra curricular actives in general. I have been posting in discussions, but I would like to try and create a Super Structure before the end on the 17th.

I've chosen to stick with Generation Exile, it was a toss up between that and Quarantine. I like the ethical and moral discussions surrounding subjects such as universal open borders and cooperation between multiple villages.

Seeing as today is full of rain / ice chunks and wind I think its suiting to settle down with a large cup of hot cocoa and a movie while coming up with a Super Struct. I'll post back with how that goes.

Catching up, SuperStruct Style

Oh boy have I been slacking on SuperStruct...I really wanted to follow through with it, but with 3 or 4 blogs to keep up on, internship, MIMA, work, ect., ect. its really tough. I'm looking forward to the time when I can narrow down my blogs to 1 or 2 tops. Anyways enough of the excuses, tonight and tomorrow I'm going to be working on catching up with SuperStruct.

Going on 30min of exploring what SuperStruct has become, I'm really amazed. One gripe I'm finding I have with it though is I'm getting all these lines of "its so easy to catch up don't worry!", but it really is dawnting trying to. I did find Avant Game which was a ton of help, but that was only after a generous amount of digging and back tracking. They need to have a "Get Updated" button right on the homepage with abridged versions of all 5 super threats then links to each individual one to get more aquainted with it from there.

At this point I'm thinking I'll pick one super threat and stick to it, keeping up with all 5 seems like it will be to demanding especially at this point.

Generation Exile? Quarantine? Outlaw planet? Hmmm

SuperStruct Starts Today

According to the SuperStruct website the Global Extinction Awareness System will be up and running sometime today. Anyone following this should be keeping this site under close watch today. I'll be reporting back when anything changes today.

SuperStruct

Anybody interested in experience design or new digital media should definitely check out Superstruct. The idea behind it is that its 2019 and the world is new serious problems and we need to figure out how to save humankind from extinction. Through blogs, videos, forums and anything else user-generated people post how it effects their lives and what they're doing about it. Superstruct starts Oct. 6th technically, but there are some mini events they're doing starting yesterday.

Ten-Year Forecast developed it and it looks like they have some more plans like this for the near future.
